Last week was spring break and we had a really fun time traveling. We went through several new states, tried new food, played on a beautiful white sandy beach, rode jetskis, and made it home safe....Here is a little about our vacation....
*stop in Beaumont TX for lunch and Vietnamese food at Pho Four Seasons for the first time - tried pho, and noodle dishes and egg rolls
*into Louisiana and stop at Millenium Park in Lake Charles - great park
*stop at USS Kidd and the Mississippi River
*stayed in Baton Rouge and ate a bit of French dinner at La Madeleine
*drive through Mississippi and Alabama over many bridges and roads raised up on piers
*tried to stop in Mobile, AL but accidentally ran into the St Patrick's Day parade and went in a tunnel under the Bay of Mobile so kept going
*reach Destin, FL and our hotel - Hilton Sandestin
*swimming in outdoor pool and playing out on the beach
*breakfast out at Another Broken Egg in Baytown Wharf and then playing at the playground
*we grabbed food for later at the grocery store
*swimming in the indoor pool
*playing on the beach - This really was beautiful and a fun several hours. The temp outside was probably in the 70s so actually made it really pleasant. The water was clean and nice too. Everyone just played!
*Mexican dinner at Pepitos
*Jetskis - We rented one jetski for 2 hours from XtremeH2O and turned out to be perfect for us. They could fit 3 people and there was a park not even a mile away with beach access and right at the end of the no wake zone. So it was a great place for others to play while we took turns out on the jetski.
*back to the hotel and the beach in the afternoon
*hamburger and shakes for dinner at Back Yard Burgers
*driving back and stop in Lafayette, LA
*ate cajun food for dinner at Prejean's - croc de jacques (alligator), chicken and sausage gumbo, fried green tomatoes, crawfish enchilada, corn macque choux, chicken pasta inez
*saw new Cinderella movie
*driving all day in rain back to Texas
*stop at Houston Temple
